Hello Monday! Hello Peoples!
We're back from a weekend {truly} away and we are both feeling worlds better. The last two weeks where like an endurance run for some reason and, ugh, the end was miserable. But a quick morning sprint with no make-up through the rain landed me on a train to the south and the sun and new sights where I met up with R. Thank you, weekend!

So, I'm keeping it light but nonetheless special today and sharing my all-time favorite Christmas stories! Here goes:
by Tomie dePaola
This story is perhaps the most evocative of Christmas for me as it traces a family's traditional preparations in their new land. New to their little village in America, we watch the family prepare cookies and cakes, popcorn strings and candles, find the perfect tree and finally bring it home to celebrate in ways that seem very foreign to their neighbors, but they won't seem foreign for long. This story feels like home to me.
